The soundproof windows were what I appreciated most. Even though the place is on a busy road, they blocked out all the traffic noise, and our room was spacious. The building is old but reasonably maintained, though the creaking floors could use some attention. It's well located, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and most places. The food wasn't good. We'd originally booked breakfast and dinner, but cancelled both and ate elsewhere, and there are lots of restaurants nearby. Parking is very limited, perhaps five cars at most if squeezed in. We were there for the National Arts Festival, and the other guests were performers travelling in a minibus, which saved parking space. Otherwise, parking would have been a problem. All in all, we had a fair experience, but there's room for improvement.

Parking is a squeeze, and I didn't like that they don't ask what you want for breakfast or dinner.

The rooms are roomy and comfortable, particularly the self-catering ones.

The rooms are spacious and have a homely feel, and most amenities are within walking distance. There's a good range of DSTV channels, especially sports for anyone who enjoys that. Parking on the property is quite limited and may only fit a few cars, but otherwise we had a good stay.

I stayed at Bartholomews last month. I liked that the room was clean and the linen was clean, and it's close to campus, so I'll probably book just the bed next time. The meal times were a real disappointment, though. Breakfast was meant to be at 7:30 but often came at 8:00, and dinner scheduled for 19:00 was served at 20:30. They just couldn't keep to the times. One day I waited 30 minutes and left without breakfast.
