The room was extremely cold. The heater was useless and there were no blankets, just lightweight throws. We only realised later that night that the toilet wasn’t working. We tried reporting it to the caretaker who lives on the property but got no response. The next morning, we called the number we’d used when checking in. The lady sounded completely unbothered and suggested we didn’t know how to use the toilet. We explained that we had opened and closed the valve, but no water was going into the cistern tank. The taps had water, so it wasn’t a general outage. Since our problem wasn’t taken seriously, we checked out that day after just one night of the two we’d booked. The lady refused to refund the unused night.

Nothing about the experience felt professional, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The receptionist and cleaning lady stays by our back door, does her washing in full view, uses our kitchen to cook, and turns up in slippers and pajamas in the mornings. The bathroom wasn’t clean, had no bathroom mats, and its window was broken. The gas for the heater had run out, and the electric blanket didn’t work. I was disappointed. Rather avoid!

The place is well situated, and the ladies looking after it are amazing. They fixed our faulty geyser before it became a problem. There were some issues with missing cutlery, though, and the place needs a bit of maintenance.

The location is great, and the host is always helpful when needed. It’s a self-catering place, but the items provided weren’t clean. It could use a little maintenance and some elbow grease to make it more pleasant.
