It’s a reasonably clean place and works for travellers who just need somewhere to sleep while passing through. But the room basics are missing: no workspace, tea or coffee setup, shower gel, or bath soap. The prices seem hard to justify for the facilities and service, especially when they’re similar to larger chains like Road Lodge. The service gets three stars because the one staff member clearly does their best under difficult conditions. That person handles bookings, reception, housekeeping, and sometimes gardening. It raises concerns about how efficiently the place can run and about security. Cameras and panic buttons help, but I think the gate should be staffed and monitored around the clock. Management should give the employee better support and fairer working conditions.

After a day exploring Harties, we had a good rest here, and my daughters loved the pool. The place is nice, though it needs better upkeep, like a bedside carpet and a shower in the deluxe room. There’s no Wi-Fi in the lapa area.

We got back from a wedding to find guests drinking and partying in the lounge. The noise kept going, and the manager couldn’t get them to follow the no-noise rules. In the end, we left just before midnight to find somewhere else. The guest lounge was a nuisance, to put it mildly.

We’d booked the whole place for the weekend. After checking out on Sunday, we were still hanging around and planning to leave when they told us we had to pay an extra R8,000 just to chill there.

We paid a lot, but didn’t feel respected. The place wasn’t in good condition, and on Saturday night we arrived late to find other guests drinking and making noise in the Lapa, so we couldn’t sleep. Around 6 or 7 in the morning on 27 October 2019, those same guests were up again, shouting and playing loud music as if nobody else was there. When I went to the pool with a towel from the guest house, a staff member told me that wasn’t allowed, but let the noisy guests carry on. That was unacceptable, and the price wasn’t worth it.
