The lovely room and bathroom, the lush green house, and a delicious breakfast made our two-night stay great. Helen and the staff did so much to accommodate us. Helen even managed to book a sea kayak trip at the last minute before the weather changed. We had nothing to complain about.

Forty Trees is tucked into a leafy corner of Hermanus, a peaceful place to settle in during a Whale Coast stay. We were welcomed with aromatic iced tea and cheerful chants of ‘we’re so happy to host you’. This home-style B&B has the warmth of a home while offering hotel-quality luxury, with care given to every detail.

Julia and her staff made us feel thoroughly spoilt, and the breakfasts were incredible. The guest house is comfortable, peaceful and tranquil, with a beautiful garden and a central location. We had an amazing weekend, such a treat and well worth a visit.

The rooms are nice, the location is okay, and the food is good. But there’s a dog running around everywhere, jumping toward people and snapping at them. If you’re even a little afraid of dogs, don’t go there. It made the stay uncomfortable because I couldn’t move around freely without worrying.

Right in the centre of town, this place feels like a magical oasis, with an amazing pool and a gorgeous, spacious guesthouse. The staff are so friendly and the food is incredible. I especially loved the freshly made apple and pineapple juice!
