From the guest house it’s an easy, short walk into central Hermanus, where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. Right across the road are the cliff paths and the very cool Fick’s Pool restaurant. Our room was spacious and luxurious, with wonderful ocean views, and you might even spot whales if you’re lucky. We stayed at Hermanus Boutique Guest House on July 26, 2025. The property is beautiful, and breakfast was delicious and nicely presented. A comfortable, scenic place to stay, highly recommend.

We asked for a late checkout and they kindly gave us an extra hour. The staff were courteous and attentive, and breakfast was delicious every morning. They also welcomed us with a lovely congratulations note and a bottle of bubbly for our wedding anniversary. We stayed for three nights, and it was a memorable visit. The room was beautiful, with great views and tasteful interiors. A wonderful stay with excellent service, and we’d be happy to come back.

There are two separate buildings, one facing the beach and sea, and another behind it at a better price. We stayed in the second building, which had no sea views, but it was just perfect. It was very quiet, and the bed was comfortable. They also offer free happy hour in the evenings, with two glasses of wine at no charge. The location and hospitality were great, and breakfast was impressive. We loved our stay.

The coast views from the room were wonderful, and we could see whales, so bring binoculars. It’s a clean, bright boutique hotel in a good location, with a welcoming feel and a good breakfast. I’d definitely recommend it.
