Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff, Johannesburg

The food at our travel industry event was amazing, and the conference staff were great. Reception was another matter. The front office manager treated us very poorly, as if we didn’t deserve good service because we weren’t hotel guests. We waited, then eventually left after she refused to let us use the golf carts to get back to where we’d parked our cars.

Our room was spacious and thoughtfully laid out, and the staff were so kind and went out of their way to help. It’s an exceptional property with beautiful rooms and outstanding hospitality. We also enjoyed a drink at the stunning Flames restaurant and got to explore the spa facilities. Highly recommend!

The views were lovely, from jacaranda trees and the city to lots of birds and even an elephant at the zoo when we zoomed in. Everyone around the resort was accommodating and courteous, and I left feeling like I’d been to a world class luxury resort. A special thank you to Boitumelo and the high tea team for such a lovely start to the new year. The high tea itself was a deluxe experience, with fresh savory bites and desserts that felt luxurious and had a local twist. The chefs came to our table to explain each item, and you could see how much care and pride they’d put into the treats. Boitumelo led the service flawlessly, with real professionalism and courtesy. We could choose from a variety of Japanese teas, and the non alcoholic drink was smooth, sweet and crisp. They also catered well to my dietary requirements and made the full high tea experience work with the weather. The classy atmosphere had just the right instrumental music, and the team timed everything perfectly. The duty manager checked in too and was a pleasure to talk with.

My partner had the ribeye and absolutely loved it, and the king prawns with their side of rice were delicious too. The waiters were incredibly polite, friendly and professional. Thank you to Boitumelo, Lesego, Phina and Zandi, who were helpful, funny and knowledgeable. The renovated place is beautiful, and Flames has stunning views with plenty of seating to choose from.
