Park Hyatt Johannesburg

The thoughtfulness started before I even reached the hotel. After my 16-hour flight, a representative in the airport car asked if I was hungry and offered to arrange room service for my arrival. From pickup at the airport through to departure, every interaction exceeded expectations. The staff were genuinely warm and attentive, from the front desk to the drivers providing complimentary rides around the local area. Everyone made me feel welcomed and cared for. The hotel’s smaller size adds to the intimate, personal feel, though the service clearly comes from a culture of excellence, not simply having fewer guests. The Park Hyatt Johannesburg is beautiful and modern, and its peaceful, luxurious atmosphere was even better because it wasn’t as busy as some more established hotels. I stayed two months ago and can’t recommend it highly enough if you want to feel valued rather than like a room number. Shout out to Earika, Max, and everyone else whose names I’ve forgotten after two months. Also, their body scrub smells SO good and made my skin feel amazing after that long, dry flight.

The setting was peaceful and elegant, with lovely background music, and the environment looked stunning. The staff were courteous and attentive, making us feel welcome. Every dish was beautifully prepared and incredibly delicious. The food was phenomenal, and the whole meal was memorable from beginning to end.

Room 32 was a fantastic place for our 8th wedding anniversary. The gardens and verandah were beautiful, and the staff were lovely and took care of everything we needed. The food was exceptional, some of the best I’ve had in Joburg. I recommend the beef short rib, triple fried chips, and sea bass, and the pistachio ice cream was lovely too. We had an awesome experience, and I’d highly recommend it.

The food and service at room 32 were excellent when we dined there on a weekday evening earlier this month. It was my second visit, but two gentlemen there with bodyguards made us uncomfortable and spoiled the atmosphere. They were drunk, loud, uncontrollable, and rude to the staff, with no consideration for the other diners who had spent a lot of money to eat there. I was rather disappointed.
