Maybe this was “thee” hotel ages ago, but right now the customer service is terrible. We were eight people travelling together and asked for an iron, only to be told we needed to leave a deposit. The water was brown, and when we bought food and asked to use the restaurant because it was cold outside, there was resistance. I even offered to clean up afterwards. The gate didn’t work, so every time we came or went we had to call someone to open it. The location felt unsafe, and the supervisor seemed more interested in being “strict” than helping us settle in. Walking in, I honestly thought this was one of those R150/night places. It needs maintenance too, starting with the smelly floor carpets.

Sadly, I can’t recommend this place. Communication wasn’t acceptable, the rooms weren’t great, and there was no water in them. The night front desk attendant was the only person who tried to improve the situation. The rest of the experience was unsatisfactory.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed the breakfast. Still, after five nights here, I can’t recommend the hotel. The location felt unsafe and there weren’t any pleasant views. The rooms and facilities are dated and badly need upgrading, and the Wi-Fi signal from the rooms was weak enough to make staying connected difficult. I’d suggest looking for somewhere else.

I checked into room 114 at 18:00 on 24 July 2024 and got the worst service. Management and staff clearly knew about the dirty, cold water in the room, as there was an apology notice. After a three-hour drive and a very long day, I was kept up late while they pretended to fix the pipes. Four other guests were at reception with the same complaint. They finally gave me an urn to boil water, and I only managed to sleep after 23:00. It takes about two hours to boil, so I went to bed without bathing. At 9:00 on 25 July 2024, I went down for the buffet breakfast and found scraps, with the same four guests still hungry. We were told we had arrived late, even though breakfast runs from 7:30 to 10:00. My colleague, who ate at 8:00, was told she had to choose either vianna or vors, not both. They had run out of eggs, and there was no yoghurt, just Danone, with each person limited to two. What kind of buffet is that?
