My wife and I enjoy walking, so the roughly 20 minute walk to the waterfront was no problem for us, though it might be for some people. The hosts run a lovely bed and breakfast. Our spacious room had a large covered deck facing the water, a big bed, comfortable pillows, a coffee station and a mini fridge. Breakfast was very good, and you could have it in the dining room, on the public patio or on the patio outside your room. We’d strongly recommend it.

Breakfast had an excellent choice, and the little touches in the room and at breakfast were spot on. Our room was spotless and had everything, and more, for a great stay. The hosts were so welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble. I can’t speak highly enough of them or the b&b. If you’re staying in Knysna, this place is a must.

Breakfast was beautifully laid out each morning, and we could enjoy the bay view from the dining balcony. Our room’s balcony had a lovely view too. Christa and Henti made the stay feel perfect, they were warm, accommodating, and thoroughly professional. We hope to come back. Kevin and Lynn

We had breakfast on our balcony each morning, which was a delight, with a wonderful view across the lagoon. Everything was clean, the service was great, and we couldn’t fault the stay. Highly recommend.

We stayed for six days in December 2025, and found it far too expensive for what was offered. The place didn’t deserve four stars in my view. I understand that the TGCSA rating reflects the range of services, not the quality of a guesthouse, but the council needs to address this urgently. I saw the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa’s four-star certificate, yet I can’t believe the TGCSA ever visited the guesthouse itself. The hosts were very nice, though it was clear from what we saw and heard that they were struggling with the German owner. It seemed to me that he wanted to get as much money out as possible. In town, we heard they were putting in their own money for things like paint. There were ants in our room and in our bed. We were told, “we were spraying something, but that is nature.” I got the impression they couldn’t get professional help because the owner wouldn’t pay for it. The stair steps varied in height from 15 cm to 26 cm, which is dangerous for people my age. There was also a piece of wood hanging from the roof that looked like it could fall at any time. When I first came to South Africa 30 years ago, hosts were incredibly welcoming. Now I’ve realized it’s all about making money. That’s very sad.
