I loved how safe and secure the guesthouse felt, and it’s pet friendly too. The gardens are lush, beautifully kept, and a lovely place to sit quietly or relax. There’s a swimming pool for cooling off on warm days. Inside, the rooms are thoughtfully styled and comfortable, with excellent beds and quality linen. The antiques and vintage touches give the charming place an old world feel, like stepping back into a more elegant time.

There’s also a separate cottage. We had the place to ourselves, though I’m not sure whether different groups can rent it at the same time. It would be great for three couples. The rooms are serviced, and as a guest house rather than a bed and breakfast, you have full access to the kitchen.

The house is stunning, the beds are the most comfortable in the world, and the garden is the most peaceful spot. We used to come to the Karoo for the views, but now we come specifically to stay here. This place is hard to beat!

You can relax in the beautiful garden and take in the views, though there’s plenty to see and do around the village too. The place is right by the main entrance to Nieu-bathesda, and everything is within walking distance. Albie and Fulvio, the very hands-on owners, give you a special way to experience the village. How could you not fall in love with this place ❤?

The town is a lovely place to visit, and Albert was a great host. The cottage is tastefully decorated and very well equipped. We’ll certainly come again!
