The soundproofing was the worst part. My room faced the highway, so all night I heard trucks honking and cars passing. The rooms are tiny, really the smallest hotel rooms I've seen, and the standard-room price doesn't match what's offered. They're old too, and my aircon rattled so much I kept it off despite the heat in PMB. Cleaning staff left a glass I'd used for me to use again over 2 nights, which was disgusting. There are no fridges or water in the rooms, so you have to buy your own and ask them to store it, which is a hassle. My room only had shower gel and no lotion or anything else, so I'd have had to go buy some if I'd left mine at home. I'd look for a quiet, modern BnB in town instead. This place isn't worth the money or the trouble.

The staff were courteous and helpful, which is what stopped this from being a one-star stay. At R1345 a night, though, I was truly unimpressed by how much seemed to be cut back. There was no in-room dining, no hotel restaurant, no fridge in the room, and other basics were missing too.

The room was missing spoons, and the cupboard hanger was broken, which added to an already poor stay. I reached StayEasy Hotel around 11pm after travelling from Durban to Pietermaritzburg and learned supper wasn't served, only vouchers. Nearby restaurants were already closed, so after the long trip we had to find and pay for food ourselves. The hotel should have some way to feed late arriving guests. I wasn't happy with the stay.

The view was lovely, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast buffet was nice. Shahirra was really cool and showed me how to use the toaster without making me feel embarrassed. My husband and I had a great time, and we're coming back soon. The staff were friendly and everything felt perfect.

The rooms are on the small side, but they were modern and clean. The breakfast buffet was pretty good, and the staff were very friendly. It's right by Midlands Shopping Mall. I enjoyed my stay.
