The clear night sky and peaceful setting were lovely, and we appreciated that the place is pet friendly. We stayed in the two bedroom suite, which had plenty of character. Peter, the owner, made the unusual artworks from upcycled materials. The open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge had an open fireplace, and the kitchen was well equipped. Both bedrooms were comfortable and clean, each with its own shower ensuite. We plan to return, and I can truly recommend this guesthouse.

Our unit had a fireplace, and the supplied wood came in handy during the winter cold. There were plenty of warm blankets too, along with emergency lights for load shedding. The accommodation is simple and no frills, but the units are spacious and clean. The self catering facilities are basic, though more than enough to be comfortable. Recommended!

We were five in the family, and the rooms were spacious with all the basic amenities. I found my bed very comfortable, though the others were still asleep, so I can’t speak for theirs! The views were relaxing, and Aloe Guest House is a nice family place. It’s a bit of a healthy walk to the dorp. There are lights for power outages or load shedding, and I’d suggest buying wood if it’s cold, since there’s a fireplace that warms the room and makes it nice to sit and chat.

The place feels authentic and is good value for money. It’s an underrated spot, and I’d happily make it one of my weekend getaways. Looking forward to coming back.

The garden art was lovely and interesting, and the nights were quiet with great looking stars. We had an awesome stay. I would’ve given it five stars, but for a house that sleeps five there were only two wine glasses, three coffee cups and two water glasses. Apart from that, it was perfect.
