Clos Malverne Wine Estate Accommodation

Birdsong and a room looking out over the dam made this such a peaceful place for a weekend break. The room was clean and spacious, with tea and coffee available, and Michelle gave us a warm welcome. Definitely somewhere I'd go back to.

Seeing the total lunar eclipse and Blood Moon from the estate's unobstructed views was breathtaking, and made an already memorable stay even more special. We were also glad to see the ongoing work to improve the establishment, with its commitment to quality and guest satisfaction clear throughout. The team, including Seymour & Sophia Pritchard, Suzanne Coetzee, Amy Brandt, Berni Jacobs, and Debi Mans, made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They were professional, attentive, and friendly, and handled every request with care. The meals were outstanding and the wines exquisite. Thank you, Clos Malverne, for a remarkable visit. The views were stunning, the food was great, and the accommodation felt luxurious and comfortable. My wife and I had an awesome anniversary stay. Debi deserves a special mention for welcoming us so warmly and making the visit exceptional.

I left without learning the wine prices, getting recommendations, or hearing anything about the wines produced there. On arrival, there was no introduction to the property or winery, which is the least I expect at a place like this. The receptionist's answer was to check with the restaurant because they are separate businesses. That separation was only explained after we booked, though the Booking description didn't mention it. The winery stay we expected never really happened. The experience felt poor from the start, with no reception. Our room looked onto the parking lot, and the pool is inside a family's house, so using it felt like intruding in their home. The restaurant doesn't open at night, and finding food was a problem: no menu, no snacks, and no minibar restocking. Debie, the host, did try to help in some way, but I still had a bad experience. We paid a high price for it. I don't recommend the place and wouldn't return.
