Premier Hotel Umhlanga

I travel for work often, and I was really impressed by this hotel. The rooms were luxurious and spotlessly clean, and the staff were knowledgeable, well trained, and clearly understood the guest experience. Everything went smoothly. I'd definitely stay here again.

I've been to this hotel three times. The first visit was amazing, but the second was awful: the food my colleagues and I were served was rotten. I let that go because the first visit had been so good. Now it's my third visit, today, 13th May 2026, and the restaurant service and food have been horrible again. The female staff seemed to have no interest in working at the restaurant or hotel. I got attitude just for asking to take away food I'd paid for, and it arrived dripping with oil in the takeaway box, which stained my coat and purse. I asked three different waiters and waitresses for help four times, but still waited an hour for my food. Absolutely disgusting.

The room was spacious, with crisp, clean linen, and the whole place was spotless. The finishes are high quality, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Umhlanga's centre is only a five-minute drive away, which is a real plus. Premier Hotel Umhlanga lived up to its name for me. A wonderful stay and amazing service.

We asked for ice and were told there'd be a R50 service charge to bring it to our room. Then we requested another bottle of water, but were told they couldn't give us one and would only refill the bottle we already had. Who knows how many people have put their mouths on it? We ended up filling our own bottle from the bathroom tap. The staff on the phone were arrogant and didn't even greet us or say please or thank you. The whole experience was disgusting, and I won't stay there again.
