Lovely owners, a good breakfast, and a great location. The internet was a little slow when I needed to run online Teams meetings, so I switched to my phone. No big deal.

The owner was so welcoming, and the service was great. It’s a lovely, clean and peaceful place, with airy shared spaces and a nice outdoor pool area where you can relax. A perfect spot for a day away.

Breakfast was delicious each morning, and having a bar and swimming pool was a nice extra. The rooms had the basics needed for a comfortable stay, and the welcome and service were warm and friendly. The guesthouse is in a quiet spot, but shops, restaurants and the beach are still within walking distance.

I was in town for a short business trip and stayed one night. I usually book a hotel in Umhlanga, but wanted to try a guest house this time. I selected the sea-view option instead of a garden or pool view, but there was no sea view at all from room #4. Please update the online description so future guests aren’t disappointed. The rooms are much bigger than you’d usually get in a guest house, with a huge, very comfortable bed and top-class bedding. Even when fully booked, it’s quiet and peaceful. I’ve stayed twice, and Sally and Bob have been gracious hosts both times: warm, welcoming, and full of good recommendations and local knowledge. The upstairs balcony has great views, and the patio and indoor furnishings are beautiful. I’d definitely recommend The Hamptons, if you can get a booking.
