I keep coming back to Shema Guest Lodge in Chalala because it’s so quiet there. Away from the city bustle, the peaceful surroundings make it easy to unwind, and I enjoyed walking around the grounds in the fresh air and listening to the birds. The lodge is nicely kept, tastefully decorated, and the rooms have the basic things needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were polite and helpful, and made me feel at home. The dining choices were okay, with a good range of local food, and eating outside surrounded by the calm sounds of nature was a nice touch. There are outdoor activities too, though a walk around the grounds was enough for me. It’s a comfortable, peaceful break in Chalala, and I’d recommend Shema Guest Lodge to anyone who wants to step away from everyday stress.

There were leaks all over, the plumbing was broken, and there was no hot water in the room. The bedding smelled, the rooms were dirty, and there were no towels or tissues.
