A great base for visiting Gjirokastra, in the best possible location. The rooms are very clean and in very good condition, and the breakfast buffet is great. I'd recommend it to anyone coming to the city.

The shaded courtyard is quiet and peaceful, and the family-run hotel is right by one of the old town gates. Our room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast outside was excellent, with eggs, fruit, pastries, and jam.

We really enjoyed our stay at Kastro Hotel in Gjirokaster. The staff welcomed us warmly, and there was a good selection at the breakfast buffet. Our spacious, clean room had very comfortable beds, too.

The young man at the front desk was so friendly, warm, and helpful, and the room was large with all the amenities. The only snag was a strange smell from the AC when first switched on. Apparently nobody else could smell it, so maybe it was just me. We happened to be there for a check-in festival, with famous Albanian artists performing live right in front of our room. We hadn't expected a free concert in the old town, but loved the lively crowd and fun music. Such lovely hospitality, and a great stay at this small, quaint place that fits the old town atmosphere.

Right below the castle, the hotel has a great location. The hosts were so friendly, and the rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. Highly recommended.
