Magdalena was like sunshine, kind, knowledgeable and helpful before we arrived and throughout our stay. When my knee was bad after two days of hiking, she suggested a trip to Lago del Desierto, which was perfect. We stayed four nights and liked the quieter south side of town. You can walk with bags to the bus and trails. It felt peaceful, and we met some great people who were all respectful.

The owners were lovely and always happy to help, and there was a nice atmosphere among the small number of guests. The rooms and bathroom were immaculate, and the bed was comfortable. In the bright breakfast room, big windows look out toward Fitz Roy. There's also a comfy communal sofa area and a fridge. There isn't a kitchen, but we appreciated being able to make and eat a cold meal in the dining area one night. Breakfast came with good coffee and hot milk, which was a treat. I'd gladly stay again.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and even prepared breakfast early for my trekking day. The rooms were comfortable and good value for money. I'd definitely come back.

Even though our room used a shared bathroom, it was looked after and cleaned constantly, better than having a private one! The place was cozy, quiet and clean, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. We loved it 🍃♥️

We could shift our dates to work around the weather forecast for our treks, which was a huge help. The room views of fitzroy were a big plus, and the communal spaces were lovely to have on days with bad weather. We had a really nice stay at Nothofagus and would come back to El Chalten.
