Isla Bella

Miguel’s place in Isla Bella was simple, but it felt like home because of him. From the start, he made me feel as if I’d known him forever. He welcomed me warmly, showed me how things worked, and made sure I knew the address. I came back late on my first night and couldn’t get the heater on. The next day he smiled and said, “You should’ve woken me up.” Later he asked if I remembered the address. I pointed to my head and said, “I’m smart.” He laughed, and I still remember that moment. That evening we sat together and connected without many words. We didn’t speak the same language, but gestures were enough for us to understand each other. I spent two nights there. I’ll always remember Ushuaia, the snow, the Line of Fire, Glacier Mountain, Devil’s Throat, the End of the World, and especially Miguel.

For a traveler who wants a personal touch and doesn’t need lots of frills, this is a great place to stay in Ushuaia. It’s a family home turned bed and breakfast, run by Miguel, a kind and very attentive owner who can suggest things to do nearby. The rooms are comfortable, and the central downtown area is an easy walk away, though the walk back is a big uphill climb. I’d highly recommend it.

Mrs Monica was extremely rude. She tried to charge me almost 20% more than the Booking.com amount, and when I refused, she yelled at and insulted me. She also discriminated against me because of my nationality. In my view, she shouldn’t be working with people and needs therapy for her anger issues. The location is quite bad, and the breakfast is poor. Don’t come here.

I had a cozy stay at Isla Bella. Miguel was attentive and made sure I had a good breakfast. He doesn’t speak much English, but we managed to understand each other. The location is a little outside the main area, about a 10-15 minute uphill walk from the Main Street. I had a good stay.
