The owners, the Jehle Family, made our weekend at Hotel Garni Arosa feel like staying in a home away from home. Mrs. Jehle welcomed us with real warmth and immediately explained the resort and how to buy skipasses efficiently. When two of our family members unexpectedly couldn’t join us, she handled it professionally and with empathy. It was clear she cared about the guests’ interests. After a long day on the slopes, we could return to a quiet place. The hotel is only a few minutes’ walk from the Silvretta cable car. Our room, or Suite, was spotless and spacious, with a modern Alpine look, very cozy beds, fast Wi-Fi, a mini-bar and a safe. The balcony view was a delight. Breakfast was varied and delicious, with fresh products and local specialties, a great start before skiing. The clean, peaceful wellness area has a sauna and steam bath, just right for tired muscles. We had a wonderful stay that exceeded our expectations, and I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Garni Arosa for its location and its friendly, professional service. We’ll definitely be back!

The staff were very polite and helpful with our travel arrangements and ski card. They even packed food for us when we had to leave before breakfast. The hotel is modern, clean and nice, and we were very happy with our stay. There are also very cute cats in the lobby. One awkward thing was the bathroom. Its door and part of the walls were glass, and they didn’t block much sound, which felt uncomfortable both inside and outside the bathroom. The path to the ski room was very steep and sometimes slippery, though we managed.

I wouldn’t recommend Arosa to anyone. We stayed for a week at this family-run bed and breakfast, which seemed to depend almost entirely on the owner. She handled check-in, breakfast and lift cards herself. The facilities were just okay and relatively clean, but the mattresses were very poor, and after skiing or snowboarding we didn’t sleep well. There were no radiators in the room apart from the bathroom one, so drying clothes and gear was difficult. The cleaning service would enter while we were at breakfast without warning, but didn’t actually clean the room or replace sheets unless we specifically asked. We accidentally broke a glass, and the pieces were still there when we left, with no vacuuming. We also had to ask twice for soap. The service was very poor. The owner was rude and bad-tempered every day, and seemed to have little understanding of hospitality. She hardly spoke English. On our first day she asked us to pay the full amount upfront. After we went upstairs to unpack, I returned first, and instead of speaking to me she made an intense rubbing-fingers gesture, like someone asking for money. I was shocked by how rude it felt. Another time, I knocked at reception to politely ask for tea. She stormed out with her hands on her waist and shouted, “What is the problem”. She also scolded us about using the gear room rather than simply telling us we could store our skis and boots there, and made rude remarks about even easy requests throughout our stay. The facilities were okay, but the owner’s manner made the week unpleasant and irritating. As the business owner, she seemed to have lost sight of who the customer is and who is providing the service. In my view, she gives Austrians a bad name. I strongly suggest hiring professional staff to deal with guests; I found her obnoxious and insulting.

Clean and quiet, with a nice breakfast. The only problem came when we went to get our car from the garage, two hours after checking out because we’d gone for coffee on the main street. Our key card had been disabled, and the manager scolded us for not having left the almost empty garage before 10 a.m. Otherwise, a very nice and clean Garni.

The owners were so friendly, and we really appreciated their hospitality. This family-run hotel has clean rooms, a nice breakfast and a perfect location. Thank you!
