The animals were a big hit: children can feed and pet the pony, donkey, four sheep, and rabbits. The privately owned horses are off-limits, though you can see them outside and in the pasture. There's plenty to ride around on, from Bobby Cars and tractors to tricycles and a pedal-powered chopper for older kids. Children of different ages zip around the farmyard without car traffic. The playground has lots of equipment, ride-on diggers, shovels, and buckets, though its sand is hard and coarse, so it wasn't good for sandcastles. Our apartment had what we needed. The kitchen was clean and well equipped, and the rooms were pleasant, if basic. We were two families with three children under three, and felt comfortable during our short break. We were welcomed in person on arrival and shown around. High chairs, cribs, and bed rails for regular beds are available free of charge. For rainy weather there's a playroom and a lounge with several tables. A nice spot for a relaxed family getaway.

The warm, friendly atmosphere made our family feel at home, and the hosts were attentive and very nice. Bachbauer Children's Paradise has lots of places for children to play, plus a charming petting zoo that the little ones loved. Parents can relax while the kids have fun. A wonderful family holiday destination.

This is far from five stars. There's a lot of maintenance overdue on the playground equipment and in public areas. A broken lamppost held only somewhat in place by two support posts, and wood screws sticking about 1 cm through a door, are serious injury risks, especially for children. As far as I can tell, a safety inspection in a business with employees would have led to some immediate fixes. Some things could be overlooked, like the dated children's vehicles, including the pedal tractor. But this no longer feels like a farm with cows and mooing. There are horses, and children can see a pony, goats, rabbits, and other small animals, but no cattle or stable with milk. Breakfast also falls short in both variety and quantity. For families who travel a lot, it can work as a place to stay overnight and spend time outdoors. The farm is well away from busy roads, and anyone arriving by car should drive slowly and carefully. All in all, I wouldn't recommend it. The price doesn't match the experience.

We stayed for a week at the Bachbauer farm with our two children and had a wonderful time. There are lots of destinations nearby, including lakes and hiking trails. The kids loved spending time with the other children and the animals, and the swimming pond was a lovely way to cool off. Our family room (Waldstille) had everything we needed for a self-catering holiday. We were completely satisfied.
