Gasthof Auerhahn

The staff were friendly and helpful, and one person at check-in offered to help with my heavy luggage. There's no lift, and though I said she could take my lighter bags while I handled the heavy ones, she insisted on helping with the heavy stuff. Such a kind gesture. It's a lovely, quiet place and I was extremely comfortable. The hotel was even better than some 4-star places I'd stayed at in Austria. The kettle was clean, but had a lot of limescale, which wasn't a big issue. It's about a 15 minute walk from salzburg hbf. The bus is quicker, though sometimes the timings aren't very regular.

A warm welcome every time, and lovely, comfortable rooms. It's a friendly, family run hotel, a short walk from the old town. The railway station is nearby, but the excellent insulation means you don't hear it. Breakfast was excellent too.

The staff were very nice, and dinner at the hotel's restaurant was exceptional. Our room was beautiful, spacious, super clean, and had a very comfortable bed. The sofa could easily sleep a third guest if needed. It also had A/C and electric shutters. The location was convenient for the train station, about a 10 minute walk or two bus stops. Downtown was an easy 15 minute bus ride. We had a wonderful time here.

We arrived around 12:30pm, a little earlier than expected, and waited only 10 minutes before going to our room. They offered us a drink, and we got to relax outside for a bit. The staff were lovely and the service was great. Our room was clean and comfortable, and stayed cool despite the warmth outside. Breakfast was good too. The location was convenient, 10-15 minutes on foot from the train station and five minutes from a bus stop. We'd definitely come back.
