Jenny's Huamatl

The location worked perfectly for us, right by the valley station. It's about a five-minute walk to the station and other activity areas such as Patschi. After staying in apartments in the upper part of the village for several years, we tried this spot this time. The place was clean and generally adequate, but the furniture and atmosphere felt quite dated and due for an update. The mattresses were worn out. We were especially disappointed that there was no oven or toaster, which we consider basic amenities. The price is similar to other places, so there's room for improvement.

We had dinner there once. There were only three three-course menus to choose from, and although the food tasted very good, the portions felt small for the price. We prefer traditional, home-style food, so it wasn't quite for us, but you can always eat elsewhere. The rest of the hotel was great: friendly staff, an amazing breakfast buffet, and a perfect location for the cable cars. The rooms are very clean and perfectly adequate if you don't need frills.

We spent a few days here with friends and slept wonderfully in the great rooms. Breakfast, served at the hotel next door, was delicious. The staff were super friendly, and we had a lot of laughs and fun. The area around it is beautiful and has plenty to do. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was the one bright spot, along with the restaurant manager, who was always cheerful and very friendly. Even so, the coffee was disappointing: the machine never made a decent cappuccino or latte. The rooms felt tasteless and uninspired. There was an old sofa, cheap laminate that creaked with every step, and a bathroom about 1.5 square meters in size that barely deserved to be called a guest toilet. The shower sprayed water everywhere except where it should. Cleaning was only superficial; a dead fly lay beside the bed for four days before it somehow disappeared. When we left, Jenny and her husband were incredibly unfriendly and told us we should book a four-star hotel instead of a bed and breakfast. I can't understand the positive reviews. No recommendation from me, and we won't be back.
