The reception man was completely unfriendly and unhelpful. The WiFi barely worked, either refusing to connect or running painfully slowly. The beds were awful, with such thin mattresses that I could only sleep once I was exhausted. The place was neglected, filthy, and horrible. The bathroom was disgusting, and even the toilet was rusty. It may be very cheap for Vienna, but it’s not worth the price. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

I paid in advance for six nights, but when I arrived, the room looked nothing like the Booking photos. It was dirty, dusty, and smelled like an old cellar. The door wouldn’t shut properly, the curtains were nearly on the floor, fist sized holes marked the walls, and there were spider webs in the corners. It felt like a horror movie, and it was obvious the room, kitchen, and bathroom hadn’t been cleaned. I didn’t feel safe staying there, and the smell made me sick. At reception, the women told me to cancel and get my money back from Booking. Twelve days later I still hadn’t received it, so I contacted customer service. They spoke with the property, which said refunds were against its policy. I tried reaching the property several times through Booking, email, and phone. A man finally answered once and said he’d call when he got to the hotel, but he never did. I kept calling for four more days and they didn’t answer. Their behavior was deeply unprofessional and disrespectful. I’d stay as far away as possible from this repellent place.

The one thing in its favor is how close it is to Reumansplatz u1. Otherwise, this barely deserves to be called a hotel. The furniture was disgracefully old, and everything felt dirty and shabby. There was no WiFi or TV, and the bathroom was so bad I don’t know what to say. Probably the worst place I’ve slept, worse than a dorm in Eastern Europe in the mid 90s.

There are restaurants, cafes, and convenience stores around the area, so you’ve got what you need close by. The staff were helpful and I had a great stay. I’d definitely come back when I visit Vienna.
