CheckVienna – Apartment Davidgasse

We felt cheated by both the apartment's size and the cleaning. It looked nothing like the photos, and despite being charged €30 per day for cleaning, we found things left by past guests, including rose petals, a bottle cap, a pen, and dust. We told them how we felt, but received no compensation. If you can, avoid renting this apartment.

The apartment was clean and nice, and the Wi-Fi worked great. When we accidentally locked our keys inside, the staff were friendly and got us a spare quickly. Getting in at first was confusing. There were few instructions, including nothing clear about rubbish, and the keys were kept outside the apartment. We waited about 10 minutes for someone else to open the building door. Since the elevator needed a key, we had to carry our heavy suitcases up five large flights of stairs. The kitchen also had very little equipment.

Margaret helped us find the keys and was a great help. Thanks to her, from India. Finding the apartment and getting inside was a nightmare. There was no proper sign, and even residents couldn't direct us. There was no reception, and to get the room keys we had to call an international number and use a box inside the building. Opening it was difficult, and it took us nearly an hour to locate the place and keys. No one was there to hear a complaint. International travelers should avoid this apartment. The lift wasn't working, so we carried our luggage up to the fifth floor and back down the stairs. The room itself had enough equipment and the washing machine worked, though the kitchen area was poorly lit. The size was fine for two people.

My kids loved the apartment, and it had all the facilities a family needs. It was very clean, better than I expected. I'd recommend it to visitors to Vienna. Kudos to the owners.
