Club Hotel Cortina

I picked this place because the price was reasonable and it was near my work. The only thing I really missed was an electric kettle, so I could make coffee or tea whenever I wanted. The internet was the serious downside. If you need to join meetings from your room, you won’t be able to. It’s awful.

You get what you pay for. I booked because it was a four-star hotel at the lowest price, but after checking in I found it was small and old. There was no hotel parking, so paid street parking was the only choice. The room had neither air conditioning nor a microwave, the old elevator made a lot of noise, and the bed was uncomfortable. The staff didn’t feel warm or friendly either.

The front desk staff were helpful and friendly, and the hotel was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a nice European-style spread. The metro is an eight-minute walk away and takes you to central Vienna and Schönbrunn. There’s a small fridge and a kettle, but no microwave, and you have to bring your own tea or coffee. The lack of air conditioning is a drawback when it gets very hot, though the hotel did provide a fan.

Our double room with a bathtub had a nice atmosphere and was well lit. It came with a wardrobe, a desk and chair, a sofa with a tea table, and two bedside tables. There was also a minibar with a fridge and a safe. A good place to stay in Vienna.
