Commercial Hotel Boonah

The food was excellent and clearly well prepared, and the service was friendly and efficient at Commercial Hotel Boonah. Priscilla was especially welcoming and attentive, and made our visit more enjoyable. It was also great that they’re dog friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed. Well worth a visit.

We’ve been here three times and the bistro and outside bar staff have been great and enthusiastic each visit. The local craft beers are generally good. The food has been mixed. On our first visit, the burger was good, but the chips were cold, and the pulled brisket roll was moist but cold. We told the staff. The Supreme Pizza had good flavour on visit two, but wasn’t hot and was too bready, so we mentioned that too. On our third visit, the chicken wings were tasty but cold. The Thai beef salad lacked presentation and didn’t have a Thai flavour, although the beef was tender. We told the staff about that as well.

On our first visit since the hotel was renovated, the bistro was clean and tidy, and the meals were generous and well prepared. We had to ask twice for pepper sauce for one meal, so I can’t give the service a full five stars. We’ll definitely visit again.

I’ve been in for lunch lots of times and love it. The little pizzas are great, the crumbed squid rings are delicate, tasty and juicy, and the chips are crunchy. Buffalo wings are yummm. The kitchen chefs and staff are doing a great job, and the bar staff and waitresses are lovely.
