Eden Oak Geelong became a good memory for us, and we feel lucky to have found this gem in the park. We've stayed in hundreds of hotels, and this is one of the nicest accommodations we've had in this price range. The room was comfortable, the common areas architecturally beautiful, and the pool area and surroundings lovely. We booked two nights to recover from jet lag and sightsee, but some bad food the morning we arrived changed those plans. The staff were caring and supportive: they let us extend one day at a time, recommended a clinic, and did what they could to make us comfortable. The hotel is in a park next to Australia's fourth-oldest botanic garden. Beautiful setting. Shops are walkable, though driving may be easier if you're carrying groceries. Breakfast buffet is included and good, with eggs, meat, hash browns, baked beans, pancakes, plenty of breads and fruit. Dinner is usually menu-based, though sometimes it's a buffet when a group is staying.

This was our second weekend here, and I'd still choose room 101 if I stayed again, hoping they improve a few things, especially the bed. The location is beautiful, though parking could be better. Our room was accessible: the spacious bathroom, easy shower and shower chair would suit people with needs. The toilet was high with suitable handrails, and the lighting buttons were odd but easy to reach. There was no “Do Not Disturb” sign, so we were disturbed, though I appreciate the staff were trying to do their jobs. The buffet breakfast was plentiful. The coffee machines were tricky, and the mocha directions mentioned chocolate that wasn't available. The hash browns were cold and congealed, but there was plenty else: cauldrons of bacon and eggs, yoghurt, some fruit and cereal. Breakfast had been better in 2025, but this was still good. The mattress didn't seem great, possibly latex or something. The blanket was tucked in so tightly that I couldn't free it properly, hurt my toes, couldn't shake the bed to check for lost items, and left something behind. A more reasonable bed arrangement would have helped. Even with every light on, the room was very dark. The TV was nice and big. After a long bike ride, the outdoor spa was a lovely place to finish. The rocks were a little slimy, and the water probably needed cleaning then. Towels were provided by the pool. The spa was easy for able-bodied people to get in and out of, and despite my bad knees, I managed okay after the ride. The pool area has three doors into reception, but only one was accessible and the others had stern signs saying not to use them. The door that opened led onto slick wood or wood-look lino, where I almost immediately slipped. I feel I wouldn't have slipped if I could've used one of the other entrances.

I had to change my accommodation dates on the same day because my surgery was postponed, and the staff were very helpful and happy to make the change. My first impression came when I called to arrange a late check-in; they were extremely helpful and came across as really professional. My partner checked in alone because my surgery came up early. Even though the booking was in my name, staff made it easy. The room and facilities were fantastic too. If I need to go to Geelong again, this is where I'll stay.

The heated pool was a highlight for my 5-year-old, and the hotel’s setting among nature was so peaceful and beautiful. We ate well, and the complimentary breakfast was a lovely extra. Eden Oak Hotel was the best value stay of our trip. We were very happy there.

My friend and I spent most of our stay relaxing in the warm pool beneath the trees. The setting was lovely, and the buffet breakfast was simple but tasty. Our beds were comfortable and the bathroom was modern. I did miss having water in the room and a microwave.
