The chips were nice and the service was good, but there was very little food for the price. I’d really been looking forward to a good steak burger, and this steak Sanger was bland. I couldn’t see any sauce or taste any, and there was no seasoning on the steak. I live in the next street, but it was stone cold, like it had been sitting in the fridge without anyone bothering to warm it. I was so hungry I could only eat half, and the rest will go in the bin. Why should I have to take it back? I expected better. Not nice at all 😐.

The staff in both the bar and kitchen were fantastic. They all deserve a pay rise. The pub itself was quaint, and the meals were fantastic: we had beef lasagna like grandma made and roast lamb. It was bucketing rain outside, but I’d have lain in the swollen gutters for one of those gourmet delights. My wife was beside herself with joy during her meal, beside me, actually.

Our own meals were very good. After a long wait, some friends still hadn’t received theirs and complained. The establishment refunded their meals and offered to bring them out anyway. I was impressed that they took responsibility and tried to make it right. Mistakes happen, but how a place responds is what matters.

We’re looking forward to dinner now, especially since Tuesday night is 2 for 1. Lunch was delicious, and the staff were super helpful over the phone, explaining exactly where and how to park our van. We stopped in 2day for a 24 hr self contained caravan stay. Thank you Goondi Hill hotel 👏👏👏
