The staff were lovely, but the room was horrible. It was so outdated and needed a major upgrade and clean-out. There was mould, the bathroom was literally falling apart, and the carpet was disgusting. The beds made us worry about bed bugs, and the small deck was covered in old cigarette ash. We felt uneasy bringing our children there as soon as we arrived. It felt like staying in the ‘ghetto’. If we could have left, we would have. We woke up saying, “omg, our car still has 4 wheels on it.” Definitely not a family-friendly place. We paid $200 for one night, but it should have been $100 or less. The door only unlocked with an easy key on one side, and it sounded like someone was rattling it all night. Not a vibe at all, and I was very happy to leave.

The rooms feel worn, and the air conditioning needed cleaning. There was a damp, mouldy smell, and for a while there was no hot water in the shower. I hope they do some deep cleaning. After one night there, I left with a high fever.

The rooms were beautifully clean, with modern amenities, a very comfortable bed, and great air conditioning. The service was warm and friendly, and the price was low. I won’t stay anywhere else in Mackay again.

The beds were comfy, and the showers were amazing. Staff were really friendly too. The rooms could use an update, and the air conditioning was broken, though luckily it was winter. The pillowcases could do with a proper clean to get rid of the smell of someone else’s head. 6/10.
