My booking was made through a third-party accommodation site, but the motel cancelled it within 24 hours of my arrival. I only found out when I got there to check in, and nobody had notified me. It was a long weekend, and I assume they cancelled because direct booking enquiries meant they wouldn’t have to pay fees. I travel to Mackay regularly, but I’ll never try to stay here again and won’t recommend it.

The location worked perfectly for me, close to shops and only a five-minute drive from my daughter’s house. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The beds were comfy, and it was lovely dealing with this little family-run motel. Great spot, close to mt pleasant.

The staff were really attentive and caring, and they were happy to accommodate my large dog. The room was clean, the aircon worked fine, and the bed had a TV, microwave, fridge and kettle. The bathroom's a bit dated but perfectly fine. It's near the highway, though I couldn't hear the traffic. Decent price, and I'd stay again.

It's always been clean, and I've stayed here for years while travelling. This time, though, the motel had changed hands. Our booked room should have been ready, but there was nobody in the office when we arrived. We were a bit cranky to find no milk in the fridge for a cuppa, and waited over an hour for the owners to turn up. There was no spare blanket, coat hangers or bottle of water either. The sheets are very crisp and noisy during the night. The usual hot breakfast has been replaced with a continental menu.
