The staff were accommodating, the rooms a fantastic size, and the flexibility to check out the next morning was much appreciated over the long weekend. One problem: possibly because it was a long weekend and they were short staffed, my chicken schnitzel was still uncooked and chewy, so I couldn't eat a good portion of it. Luckily, I didn't get sick afterwards. Still, we had an amazing stay in a perfect spot at the top, and we'll definitely be back.

The setup made a family ski trip so easy. We could hire gear just a few steps from our room inside the building, saving us from bringing a lot of equipment up the mountain. The jackets and gear seemed very new, and the kids had easy BOA laces. I'd suggest upgrading the adult snowboards in the upper tier, since they were lighter than the kids' standard boards. Food and drinks were right there, and the individually secured lockers were much better than piling everyone's gear in one room. The location and views are unbeatable, with true ski-in, ski-out access. We had a balcony room with kitchenette and ensuite. Noise wasn't an issue for us, unlike at many lodges with banging doors, paper-thin walls and kids running riot. On departure day, the manager checked the system and kindly let us use the room until about 2pm instead of 10am. Since the season had ended and nobody else was coming, we could spend more relaxed time on the mountain without storing our gear. It was a very customer-focused gesture, especially when other places might simply cite policy or charge extra. There were a couple of small drawbacks: the bacon bun at breakfast was cold inside, and the rooms are worn, with tattered sofas that look ready for street donation. But those things were minor beside the experience. We'll definitely return.

We'd booked ahead for dinner on 8th March with a large group, but there hadn't been any preparation. The menu was limited and the food quality pretty poor. The staff were great, though there weren't many of them.

In February 2026, Arlberg House hosted our Athlete Summit Event, and everything from the venue and location to the catering and service was perfect. We can't thank Rachel, Rick and the team enough for their professionalism and incredible service. For a corporate event on Mt Buller, this is an excellent venue. You won't be disappointed.

The ski-in, ski-out location is amazing and the ski lockers are excellent, but the place is overpriced and disappointing otherwise. Our room was dirty on arrival and wasn't cleaned or serviced during the stay. Some towels had brown marks, and under the bed we found a dirty sock and someone's deodorant. The window wouldn't close properly, so a noisy, freezing draught came in day and night, along with noise from night-time grooming. Restaurant service was slow, inefficient and careless. Breakfast coffee was undrinkable and the pancake machine was broken, to the kids' disappointment. Lunch and dinner were expensive and very poor quality: the 'bean and tomato soup' was hot water with raw garlic slices, raw tomato and tinned beans. I won't stay here again. It's a shame, because Mt Buller is beautiful and this lovely old building could be iconic, but it's tired and dirty, and the staff clearly don't want to be there.
