Royal Antique Boutique Hotel

I liked the location best. The hotel is in a convenient spot in Iceriseher, right by Neftciler Avenue, so it's easy to get around. The staff were helpful whenever we needed something and responded quickly. Housekeeping made the bed each day, though the service was inconsistent: used glasses were left behind some days, and complimentary tea and coffee weren't topped up on others. There were also a few room issues that affected comfort. Some furniture was showing its age, and parts of the mattress sagged noticeably. There was no toothbrush holder in the bathroom, so we had to leave them on the sink edge. Water leaked from the shower door onto the floor, making it hard to keep the room dry. The electrical sockets seemed worn and wouldn't hold plugs securely, so they often fell out. The helpful staff and excellent location were the highlights.

The hotel's personality and hospitality make it a place I'd recommend 100% to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Baku. It's near many of the city's main attractions, so we could explore on foot and get around easily. The staff, Aida, Azada, Sevinc, and Mohammad, were amazing and welcoming, which made the stay feel personal. Each morning, the lovely ladies served a fresh, satisfying breakfast with a good range of local flavors. It felt more like a thoughtful home-style meal than a standard hotel buffet. The richly detailed architecture, carefully chosen antique touches, and warm, intimate atmosphere give Royal Antique Boutique Hotel an old-world charm alongside modern comfort. It really stood apart from a typical chain hotel.

The room itself was spotless, and the bed was really comfortable. The shower was spacious with great pressure, and the hairdryer actually worked well. The location is fantastic, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I was in room 2, right by the entrance, so everyone coming in and everything happening at reception was right outside. The window faced a wall only about 15 cm away, which made the room feel like a dungeon. There were blinking lights on the wall too, so I had to close the curtains at night, though the room stayed just as dark either way. I imagine the upstairs rooms facing the street are lovely, so try to get one if you can. I’d still recommend staying here, since the good parts outweighed those downsides. 🙂

The breakfast and location were the only good parts. The room was supposed to have daylight, but a wall sat about 10 cm in front of the window. Colourful LED lights on it stayed on all night, which was annoying and pointless. Inside, it was humid and smelled musty. The bathroom furniture was in poor shape, and the room had only been cleaned superficially. I made my payment by credit card through Booking.com, and my account was disabled soon afterward over suspected fraud. When I looked into it, I found my booking had been cancelled, though I hadn’t cancelled it myself. Maybe that was an unlucky coincidence, but the same thing happened to my friend, who had booked another room there at the same time. I wouldn’t book here. The location and breakfast don’t make up for the rest.
