The rooms had a quirky layout because the building is a very old monastery, which made the stay feel a little unique. Our room was super comfortable and spacious. The hosts were incredible, and the breakfast was top notch. We’d all go back for breakfast alone. Fantastic, exceeded all expectations, and we’d absolutely recommend it.

The grounds are idyllic, and the house feels like my dream medieval home. It has a gorgeous, charming atmosphere, somewhere between a farm and a castle. Some things are charmingly rustic, like living in a castle from that time. The wooden stairs are intricate and part of the medieval feel, and I think they’re gorgeous. Breakfast was elegant and Euro-like. This was an absolute dream, the place is wonderful! I don’t understand the low reviews or their complaints. We live in a time when complaints from people who keep the world hostage can affect others, and I have no words for the insanity of those bad reviews or their invalid points. ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!

Breakfast had everything I could want, and the hosts gave me a full tour of the property. Freek also talked me through possible future additions, like wellness services. My room was lovely, with a king-size bed and a huge, cozy bathroom with both a shower and a bath. Getting there meant climbing a tiny, steep staircase. It was fine for me, though I’d suggest Floor & Freek check guests’ mobility in advance. They let me keep my motorbike under a small shelter out back, away from the street, which I really appreciated. The enormous garden is lovely for relaxing, and it’s a good starting point for walks or bike rides. Bruges is nearby and the coast is about 15 minutes away. I couldn’t find a hairdryer, but I’m saving this place to my favorites.

A lovely breakfast came with fresh bread, meat, cheese, fruit, and tea or coffee. The couple running the B&B were so kind to us, and the animals you can pet or play with made it feel more like home. It’s a peaceful spot for relaxing, not far from Brugge or the shore. We’ll definitely come back.

The grounds alone make this B&B feel like a retreat, with nature walks along the canal and farmland nearby. The house is a gorgeous, carefully restored 300-year-old home, filled with curated art objects and set on 17 acres of peaceful, landscaped grounds. It is a little dim inside and can be drafty, but the Coppens provide luxury bathrobes, and the rooms have radiators that get very warm alongside the wood-burning stove. The hosts were gracious, accommodating, and very personable. Monsieur Coppen can shuttle guests to the Bruge train station or the center of Lissewege, and Madame Coppen makes an excellent, healthy breakfast at $20 euros per person. They both know the area well and can explain what to see and how to get there. The rooms, house, grounds, and location are all lovely. I highly recommend Pronkenburg, even if you’re just looking for a quiet retreat and don’t plan to visit Bruge or the nearby tourist cities.
