Hotel Bourgoensch Hof

The hotel knew that corridor renovations were planned, but rented us a room there anyway. At 9 am on the first morning, a construction crew was power drilling the wall right outside our door. To get out, I had to step over tools and pieces of broken plaster. We were woken by the drilling at 9 every day for all three nights. The front desk staff were useless. No apology, discount, free breakfast, or free parking was offered. Nothing. The room had no outside window, and the hotel has a nightclub in the basement using the same entrance as the guest rooms. There was supposed to be a card locked door to the rooms corridor, but it stayed completely open all three nights. My wife and I didn't feel safe. This is not a three star hotel at all, and I'll never stay here again.

We fell in love with Bruges, and especially the bacon at breakfast! The hotel was super clean and nice, with very helpful people at the front desk. There’s a nice spot on the side to relax and have a drink, and they serve really good waffles too. It was also right beside the place where “in bruges” was filmed. We’ll be back next year! Update: We stayed again from Feb 6-8, and it was THE BEST. This time we got the room with a river view. I'll attach the pictures here.

We paid for a canal room for a special occasion, but couldn't see the canal, which was disappointing. The location was fantastic, so close to everything. Our budget room was clean, and housekeeping did a fantastic job. There was enough room for us and our four suitcases. I only wish there had been two luggage racks.

When we checked in, there were no towels in the room, and the next day there was no coffee. Reception acted like it didn't matter. The attitude felt like they’re centrally located, fully booked, and have a steady stream of tourists, so they don't care about each guest because there will be others. The lobby and bar look like a modern Hilton, but the place is run like a hostel. Worst hotel I’ve stayed in Brugge. Never again.
