Casa Camino

We spent a weekend at Casa Camino with nine people to celebrate some friends turning 50, and the house was wonderful. It’s bigger than the website and photos suggest. The garden is spacious too, with a BBQ and a garden house containing ping pong, table football, darts and more. It’s about a 15 minute bike ride from Brugge centre, or a 40 minute walk, on a main road with private parking. We had three cars, and with a bit of manoeuvring they fit fine. There’s a bakery across the road and supermarkets very close by. The free bikes aren’t new, but they’re fine for the short ride into town. The house has three bedrooms: one with twin beds, one with a roomy double and a bunk bed, and one with a small double. There’s also an apartment on the first floor with a sofa bed. Inside, there’s a very spacious living room, a separate dining room that works as a meeting room, a well equipped kitchen and another small kitchen in the apartment. There are three bathrooms and four toilets. The facilities were great, and it was very clean. They even lend everyone bath slippers to help keep it that way. The service and contact with the hosts were excellent, and it’s absolutely worth the money. There were only a few minor things that could be better. One double bed was a bit narrow, especially for two men sharing. The double beds each had one large duvet rather than one per person, which is fine for couples but might feel a bit intimate among friends. The apartment’s window blinds didn’t block much light, so I was glad I’d brought my sleep mask. Casa Camino is fantastic. We’re fans. If I went to Brugge again for a weekend with a group like this, I’d book it again without hesitation. Highly recommended!
