The location is hard to beat, right in the old town with everything within walking distance. But the street noise is noticeable, so light sleepers should bring earplugs. After our recent few days in Bruge, I came away a bit underwhelmed, especially after our previous stay at the Marriott in Ghent. The high Google rating had set my expectations pretty high. The hotel feels dated. Rooms are on the small side, bathrooms look tired, and the toiletries are the cheap standard kind you’d expect at a budget airport hotel, not what I expected from this brand. The fridge was completely empty too. Leaving out a few drinks seems like a big missed revenue opportunity for them. Breakfast was perfectly fine, about 7/10, but the same spread each morning and nothing special. Keep an eye on the extras as well, €9 for a large bottle of still water stings a bit. There is a small pool on the 8th floor. It’s nothing fancy, but useful for letting children burn off energy. The EV chargers in the underground car park worked properly, which saved me a potential headache. Decent enough for a short stay because of the location, but don’t expect the modern comforts you might find elsewhere.

The location felt surprisingly quiet and secluded, even though the hotel is right by the Christmas markets and busy tourist streets. We had a wonderful family stay over Christmas. Staff were polite and friendly, check-in was quick, and the hotel was clean. Our bedrooms were comfortable and spacious, and the bathrooms had been recently updated. There was also a good-sized pool and a sauna room on the top floor.

The staff made this stay especially memorable. Hotel manager Kristien is outstanding, and her team reflected her professionalism, friendliness, and strong work ethic. Tom gave us a warm welcome, Elizabetta patiently answered our many questions, and Mathijus greeted us with a big smile and anticipated when we’d need more coffee pods, adding a few extra cookies too. When our return flight time kept changing, the staff arranged an extension to our stay and kept the taxi company updated while we waited for news. We spent five wonderful days at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Bruges, from making the reservation through checkout. Our room in the historic section was perfect, with massive wooden beams and a view across a quiet street to a charming restaurant. Modern furnishings, a sparkling clean and spacious bathroom, and a great shower and tub with steamy hot water and excellent pressure made it very comfortable. The location was ideal for walking to all the sites, yet the area was quiet. We didn’t use the indoor pool or sauna, but family traveling with us said they were clean, nicely appointed places to spend their free time. We can’t wait to return to Bruges and the Crown Plaza!

What stood out most was the reception staff. They were so friendly, helpful, and professional. Especially Matthew (I think that’s the right name, hehe), keep it up! The atmosphere was lovely, and the whole place made my stay comfortable. My room was spacious and clean, the bathroom was excellent, and the location made it easy to get around.

I was upgraded to a suite as a diamond member, which was a nice surprise. The hotel bar was pretty nice too. It’s right in the middle of old town Bruges, with a quick walk to all the tourist spots, and they have their own parking lot. Highly recommend!
