We were glad to find inexpensive single rooms while traveling across Europe in January. They cost only a little more than the four-person hostel rooms we’d been paying for. Reception was friendly and gave us a map with some suggestions for the next day. They also let us leave our luggage for free after checkout. Everything worth seeing was within walking distance, and the train station was a short bus ride away.

The room is small, but the price makes it worthwhile, and it’s close to the city centre. We had a lovely stay. Breakfast in the caffe downstairs was great, especially the coffee, which was creamy and rich. We’d definitely come back.

We had the top floor to ourselves, and the view of the cathedral made all those stairs worthwhile. The room was spacious and clean, with a heater and fan, and there was another heater in the bathroom. A mini fridge helped make up for there being no TV. Entry to the building and room was easy with the codes, and the place is close to any attraction you might want to visit in Bruges. We could leave our luggage after checkout too. The convenient location and low price made it well worth staying at D28.

The location was excellent and the room was clean, so it could have been fine if the price matched what you get. It was way too expensive, though, and the rooms look much nicer in the photos. I booked a standard double but was mistakenly given the smaller room, and they refunded the difference. It was extremely small and felt like a basement. Although it was on the ground floor, the windows faced walls, so there was no light at all. The bathroom is basically part of the room, with no door. The shower glass is too short, so water spills out and wets everything. The toilet has blurred glass doors, but they aren’t blurred enough, you can definitely see through them. There isn’t even a hook by the shower for a towel. The bed was comfortable enough, but the bedding was the worst I’ve ever had. It left such deep marks on our faces. I imagine they chose fabric that doesn’t need ironing, but it was a disaster. Sorry, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
