Duc de Bourgogne

We dropped in one evening for dinner, so I can’t say anything about the rooms. We were there for my wife’s birthday, and the friendly, engaging staff made it feel like a special occasion. The mussels and fries were excellent, and the prawn croquette was lovely. We both liked the old-fashioned interior, which added to the experience. It’s about a two-minute walk from the main square.

I’m reviewing the restaurant here, since Google should distinguish it from the hotel. The food was great, and we also liked the interior design and the view over the water. The waiters were very friendly. I’d definitely recommend the restaurant and will come back.

I selected five stars for the room because there wasn’t a food option. Frederick and Saskia were excellent, suggesting good wines and dishes while staying attentive without crowding us. The escargot were large, juicy and nicely seasoned. The crab ravioli were cooked well, with an excellent sauce, and the tbone steak was perfectly done, one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The chocolate mouse was just the right size and made perfectly. French liquor coffee was spot on, and the house wine was perfectly acceptable. The cab sav went very well with the wine. For two people, 140 felt well worth it for that food and service in such a central location. Thanks, Frederick and Saskia!

The service was friendly, attentive and accommodating, and the decor was lovely. We tried the Flemish beef stew, bouillabaisse and vol au vont chicken stew, and every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. This was the best meal we had in Bruges. Would recommend!
