The location is close to perfect, and breakfast was quite nice. For the price, it’s good value and fair for what’s provided, as long as you keep in mind this is a budget hotel. The room was very small. There wasn’t room to open a suitcase and lie on the bed at the same time. No AC, which might not usually be a deal killer in cool Brugge, but I happened to be there during a summer heat wave. The paint and tile finishes were poor and dated, there was no in-room safe, and the wifi was terrible. There’s no elevator, and the Belgian stairs are classically steep, though the check-in staff were happy to help with luggage.

I was pleasantly surprised to find some of the clothes I’d left on the bed folded neatly when I got back to my room. I’m used to budget hotels and hostels, so that was a nice touch. I’m a big guy and had no trouble with the stairs, despite some negative reviews. For a short stay, I really enjoyed this place. The staff were pleasant, and it’s close to what you need, including a small grocery store and a late-night mini mart. It’s right by the abbey and within walking distance of the tourist spots. I’d absolutely return and recommend it to friends visiting Bruges on a budget.

The location is great, and they let us leave our luggage both before check-in and after check-out. But those positives were outweighed by the problems, and I wouldn’t recommend the place. The wifi didn’t reach our room even though we were relying on it. We told the owner, who didn’t seem to care and did nothing about it. The bath towels were really tiny, there was very little shampoo, and they didn’t replace it the next day. The hotel generally felt dusty.

The hotel has a very cute interior and is family-run. The owners also have a chocolate shop next door. The room was nice, but the mattress felt like sleeping on a water bed and wasn’t comfortable. It was okay for one night.

We really enjoyed our stay. It’s a nice little hotel with polite staff and a great breakfast with lots of options. The location is very good, about a 10-minute walk from the Grot Market.
