Monsieur Maurice Bar Hotel

We got in after reception had closed, but checking in was still very easy. The staff were really friendly, and our room was warm and comfortable. Breakfast was great too, though a little more fruit would have been nice. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

The best part of our stay at Monsieur Maurice Hotel was the service. The male staff member at the counter was so friendly and helpful that he even lent us travel adapters after we'd forgotten ours. That may have saved my phone battery. The room was a little dated, but clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. It was a calm, quiet stay, with lovely views of the river outside and a great location in Brussels. Easily five stars for a pleasant stay and such good service.

Our rooms and the location were okay, but the service was awful. We had booked and paid a lot for three rooms. On the first day, we asked about breakfast and were told it wasn't included. We even asked if we could pay to join, but they said no, they couldn't provide breakfast for five people. Only on our last day did they tell us breakfast had actually been included. We missed it all three mornings and had to eat elsewhere, which was pretty expensive. One of my friends also found a lot of stains on the sheets.

The staff were polite and friendly, but we came away disappointed. The rooms were quite small and not very clean, with dust on the furniture and dirty floors. The bathroom cabinet and taps needed repairs. Breakfast was pretty ordinary, and at busy times it was hard to find a table.
