The room stayed peaceful despite a DJ event in the square below. We could feel only the faintest vibration from the festivities. The staff’s kindness stood out: the gentleman at the concierge greeted us warmly, and a lovely lady, perhaps the manager or owner, always gave us a gracious smile and made us feel welcome, almost like returning guests. Our top-floor room, on the 5th floor, had windows looking out over the plaza, with a view that felt lively but calm. On Saturday morning a big market opened, and we enjoyed lots of delicious treats. Hotel Portinari is perfectly placed near the beautiful spots in Bruges center and within easy walking distance of the train station. The room was warm and inviting for an autumn visit, spacious but cozy, with thoughtful design and an open-style bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure excellent. I also liked the refillable glass water bottle, a small but meaningful sustainable touch. We didn’t have breakfast, though it looked generous and inviting. The comfortable room, quiet charm, and care in each interaction left a wonderful impression. Definitely recommend, and happy to return anytime.

Even with the rainy, chilly weather outside, I felt fresh and relaxed during my lovely stay at Hotel Portinari and my day visit to Bruges. The hotel is modern and stylish, with thoughtful design, and the staff were wonderful. Everyone was polite and friendly, from the lady at check-in to the woman at breakfast. When I checked out the next day, David, if I got his name right, could speak Mandarin! I have to mention breakfast. It was probably the best I’ve had on this Europe trip, and the cappuccino machine makes it feel like you’re making a cloud dream.

Jerneja helped me set up a surprise for my girlfriend, even though she was a continent away, which was so kind. We loved the room’s concept as a couple, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great, and the breakfast is well worth it. We really enjoyed staying here.

We were able to check in a little early, and they kept our bags for us after checkout, which made things easy with my wife and child. The staff were very friendly, and the location is ideal for getting to lots of popular spots. We had a comfortable, convenient stay at Hotel Portinari and would highly recommend it.
