't Walleke

The hosts were absolutely lovely, and breakfast was amazing. The house is great and in a very good location. We came for a family weekend away and were pleasantly surprised by our stay at B&B ’t Walleke. It made the trip even more special. Highly recommend!

The top-floor room had no toilet, so we had to go out past the breakfast room to use one. The place itself is very nice, though a bit out of the way, especially on foot from the train station. The owner was very strict, and we felt uncomfortable around her, particularly at breakfast. We had to tell her the day before what time we'd eat and which bakery item we wanted, limited to one piece of toast or a croissant each. She poured the juice in tiny servings, and the omelette came from the smallest pan I've ever seen. The whole arrangement felt very odd. One morning I didn't want breakfast and tried taking a sandwich to our room, but she got very upset, saying it could damage the laminate floors. It was quite expensive for what we got, though Brugge is generally expensive.

We got there before check-in, but the host still welcomed us warmly and let us store our bags. He was very nice and accommodating, and our room was spacious. I think the location was good too, not close to a lot of tourists but not far away. My only small issue was that they didn't accept card payments. Otherwise it was great, and I hope to stay here again when I'm back in Brugge.

The owners looked after us from the moment we arrived and gave us great tips for Bruges. They also explained the Belgian cycle system, which helped us have a perfect day cycling to Knokke. Breakfast was a delicious spread of sweet and savoury food. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is quiet, outside the busy centre but easy to get to. We had a fantastic stay at B&B ‘t Walleke, and we'd recommend it and happily stay again next time we're in Bruges. Thank you, hope to see you again soon!
