The location is good, and it could work if you’re travelling with friends and won’t spend much time in the flat. But it was hot, run-down, and the amenities were old and crumbly, even though the sheets were clean. The floor was cracking, and my colleague fell over several times, leading to a £2000 lens breaking. For a family or a business trip, I’d recommend staying clear of the company Smart Flats.

The unit I stayed in was just around the corner from Grand Place, so it was easy to walk around the city center. I don’t know if all the units are in the same building. The place felt run-down, as if it hadn’t been updated since the 70’s. The pillows were terrible, the floor was dirty, and two of the three soap containers were empty. There was no building security or outer door key, so anyone could walk in from the street. With a 20 foot ceiling, we couldn’t open or close the curtains, which were partly torn down. The bathtub spray head was broken, and one bathroom sink was clogged, though the second sink was fine. The so-called 'queen bed' was two smaller mattresses pushed together. WE DID NOT HAVE HOT WATER DURING OUR TWO NIGHT STAY. That was entirely unacceptable, especially since I was there with my wife and 1-year old. I reported it the evening we arrived and was told the team had been notified to fix it asap, but it still wasn’t fixed by the time we left. When I returned the key, I was told I’d get partial reimbursement, but it never came.

Lina did my nails and showed real skill and experience. She’s an excellent technician, and I highly recommend her services.

The apartment’s only real plus was its location. We stayed in studio 3. It looked lovely when we walked in, but it was like an oven, with no fans or air conditioning. We opened the windows, but noise from other apartments facing the courtyard was terrible, with shouting and loud music going on into the early hours. My partner looked out the window and was sworn at, which felt very intimidating. We complained after the first night, but nothing was done. The door handles came off in our hands, and only one blind opened. My daughter is very slight, and when she sat on a chair, one of its legs fell off. We also found Rentokil rodent poison next to our bed, which wouldn’t be good if a child touched it.

It was a lovely, spacious apartment in a great location, and worth what we paid. A couple of things still need finishing or fixing to make it perfect.
