Hotel Prestige

Dragging my heavy bags up to the third floor with no lift or help was a rough start. The food was awful, and the bathroom smelled strange and unpleasant. For this quality, the price is nowhere near reasonable. They charged me two days before arrival through Booking.com, so I was already committed. After checkout I realized I'd forgotten to ask for an invoice, and the hotel has ignored my messages on Booking.com. Once they have your money, getting a response seems impossible. I wouldn't book here.

Sam at reception was great, very helpful and full of suggestions for things to do. The breakfast attendant, though, was extremely rude. She huffed, bumped into me, and then scolded me. She never smiled and seemed to hate her job. The buffet itself was poor, with moldy bread. One morning, an hour before breakfast ended, there was hardly anything left. We asked if one item could be replenished, but were told the chef had finished and gone home, so we were left with cereal. Our room had no mini fridge and the AC didn't work. The taps, shower handle, and other metal fittings were rusted or coming apart, and the door handle was loose. The shower wouldn't close by about 10 cm, leaving the whole bathroom floor wet. I wouldn't recommend this place.

I had a horrible experience here as a solo traveler last year. Despite plenty of seats being available, someone came over and told me to leave. I had already said I would complain about the disgusting way I was treated, but that didn't change anything. I want basic respect and a little peace somewhere just outside the city center, not to feel watched while I'm trying to stay there. The person who served me at reception was truly horrible, and someone senior should have dealt with them firmly. I've heard they treat people this way at breakfast too, which doesn't surprise me. Please don't book here. If people speak up about the awful people running this hotel, maybe they'll have to close.

The front desk guys were nice, and the place was spotless. North Station is a 14 minute walk away. But the sewage stench in the room was a dealbreaker. It came up through the shower drain, and even shutting the bathroom door didn't help. Opening it just once filled the room with the smell again. The bathroom had been modernized nicely, but it needed a P-trap to keep that odor out. Sorry, I won't return.
