ibis Brussels Centre Gare Midi

Getting to and from the train station was easy since it's so close, and the main square is an easy walk too. Check-in and checkout were quick and straightforward. The room was clean and pleasant, and the staff were friendly. We didn't eat there, but my Accor membership came with free drinks to enjoy downstairs. A convenient, well-priced place to stay in Brussels.

I chose this mainly because I needed to be close to Brussels Midi for an early airport trip. That made the location useful, and it would also suit someone heading to either city airport or places like Bruges and Gent. But in the evening there were lots of shady people hanging around nearby. The room feels like it was fresh and fine ten years ago, and there's no safe or teapot in it. I usually enjoy breakfast at Ibis hotels, but this one was disappointing, with a limited selection and not worth 20 euro. At least the coffee was okay. For my early departure it did the job, but otherwise I'd stay somewhere else.

The hotel felt safe inside, though the area around the station was a bit uncomfortable at night. For a practical stay close to the train station, it's good value. Arriving with luggage and leaving early were both easy thanks to the location. The room was simple and clean, the bed comfortable, and I slept well. Check-in was quick, and the staff were polite.

The breakfast buffet is generous, and housekeeping was attentive. The restaurant staff were especially friendly, while the young reception team handled busy periods patiently. The hotel itself is clean, feels safe, and is good value for a main station area, though that part of town can look run-down and isn't especially picturesque. The one thing I missed was an attached garage, since parking is only available in designated spots around the hotel.
