ROXI The Urban Residence Brussels

The room itself was good for a solo traveler, and the receptionist was nice. The convenience store is cheap, and the Wi-Fi is okay, though I've had better at other hotels. But watch the charges. hotel.com said the city tax would be $20SGD, then I was charged $23SGD at the front counter. When I asked for just $3 back, they refused. It's also far from Brussel centre, so there aren't many attractions nearby. The gym is tiny and poorly kept. The ping-pong table has a bat but no ball, and laundry was really hard to find.

It got very hot in the room, and I slept badly because the air conditioning didn't work properly and the window couldn't be opened. The space between the toilet and the wall in front is also too tight. Unless you have short legs, sitting properly isn't possible. Otherwise, the rooms were generally okay.

The only good thing was the shop in the hotel. For people who are working, it's ridiculous to have rooms cleaned only after five days and make guests go to reception for toilet paper and towels. My room and a few others still hadn't been cleaned on day five. We complained, and then it was cleaned on the sixth floor.

The double room has plenty of space, but it's quite shabby. The sofa and chairs were so filthy I didn't even want to sit down. Bathroom and kitchen taps were all coated in limescale and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in decades. The sheets were stained too. The whole place felt disgusting.
