Service was friendly, professional and very helpful, and the breakfast buffet had plenty of appealing choices with decent coffee. I only wish breakfast started before 8:00. The hotel is central in Sofia yet on a fairly quiet residential street, with lots of good restaurants nearby and pedestrianized Vitosha Blvd. The major sights are about a 20-minute walk away, or the metro is a five-minute walk. It's excellent value, with clean rooms that are mostly comfortable. My street-facing room got warmer than I like for sleeping even though it was chilly outside, below 10°C, and I'd turned the heat off. I had to open the windows, so street noise came in. Rooms facing the other way probably wouldn't have that issue. As is so often the case in Bulgaria, there wasn't a proper shower stall and water leaked onto the bathroom floor. Still, I was happy with my stay.

The staff were so nice and helpful, and the location is the best, close to everything. The room was tiny, like a fish can, room no. 304, so don't take it. The water temperature was good, but the current was very slow. The food was good, though it was cold most of the time, including the eggs and bacon.

A clean, comfortable little hotel right in the center, with friendly staff and a good breakfast. It's in the cheap and cheerful category. I only gave it 4 stars because I left my computer charger and adapter plugged into the wall by mistake. I realized a couple of hours later and called to collect them, but they had no record of finding either one. I hope the cleaning lady is enjoying them! It was my fault for forgetting them, but I'm completely sure where I left them, so it's disappointing they disappeared.

The room matched what was advertised, and the staff were excellent. They speak English, know the area well, and were happy to offer advice. The attached restaurant was great, as was breakfast. Unbeatable price, service and location. I'd love to visit Hotel Niky again.

Everything was enjoyable, from the delicious diner to the top-class treatment from the Owner. We found a perfect place in Permet, with easy walking access to the town center and perfect parking for our bikes right next to the castle.
