Hotel Santa Monica

The staff were courteous and accommodating, and the bathrooms were excellent. The rooms are spacious and very clean. It’s centrally located on a mostly pedestrian street. Highly recommended.

The ambience is amazing, and breakfast was excellent. Right in the heart of Potosí, this beautifully maintained gem has gorgeous rooms at good value. The location is perfect, though getting there by car isn’t easy.

I didn’t feel welcome from the start. After seeing that the rooms weren’t as advertised, we asked about another room and chose to upgrade. The owner was extremely rude and told us to leave after we’d stayed just one night. They said drinking beer in the rooms was prohibited, even though beer was provided in the minibar. The hospitality felt very unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We paid for two weeks at the hotel through Airbnb, and the hotel blocked the money. At checkout, they told us to pay cash and said there was no way to pay through Airbnb. It seemed to me they were avoiding the commission and taking the full amount. We tried to work out a solution, but the boss arrived, called us thieves, and called the police. He told the police we didn’t want to pay. Fortunately, the officers were very decent and apologized, saying this wasn’t the first time this had happened there. The stress and the way we were treated crossed every line. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel if you don’t want unnecessary problems.
