That courtyard was a real pleasure, with trees and flowers making it a peaceful place to sit, read and have coffee. The upper floors have more flowers and views over town. The managers, who also own the attached travel agency, were friendly and served a generous home-cooked breakfast. At $33 for a double, it felt like a bargain. It’s an easy walk from the main bus station. They kindly let us check in early and gave us complimentary coffees. Our small double room on the ground floor was clean and quiet, though a bit dark. The bathroom worked fine, but the bed was softer than I like.

What a lovely family-run business! They also have a ranch where we went horse riding. Top marks, definitely recommend it to everyone.

We were five scientists doing field work in Bolivia and spent four nights at this friendly, homely hostal. The photos give a fair idea of what it’s like. The beautiful atrium garden alone made the stay worthwhile.

The courtyard was lovely, with comfortable seats in the shade, and both the room and bathroom were very clean. Breakfast was included, though simple. Just so you know, guests can’t generally use the communal kitchen. Paola and Ellie were really kind when I arrived late and hungry. They let me quickly make some noodle soup even though the kitchen isn’t for guest use.
